I had the opposite problem. I found the CPUs, but couldn’t find a use for them.
Near to each of the shelters, there is now a shelter speaker. If you interact with it, you can remove a CPU.

update: Ignore everything I said. It looks like the pre-beta was just changed to have turrets need a new CPU item, not the advanced circuits like they did previously.
Some of the stronger electrical items drop the highest-level electronics item. (You’ll probably need the sledgehammer to break them.) I don’t remember everything, but the power boxes outside buildings seem to be a good source.
You may want to try an easier shelter first (I’m assuming the ones closer to the "start" are easier). That may give you a few more resources that will help for a harder shelter. (It is too bad there isn’t a way to upgrade the electronics to higher levels, like can be done with wood and metal.)

Dysmantle is an open world survival adventure game where you can destroy (almost) anything.
So I only have 1 turret right now and need more cpus to make more. I am at level 51, have everything maxed out and cant seem to find any more of these things. My map is almost completely done except for the one far west which I cant seem to figure out how to get there. Is there any other way to get cpus other than the shelter towers?
Materials
Materials are the lifeblood of Dysmantle. Virtually everything you do in the game, from fighting enemies to breaking objects to finding buried treasure, yields materials. Crafting, Cooking, and Building naturally all require materials.
Rarity [ ]
All materials have a given rarity which reflects both their abundance and the relative difficulty of obtaining the material. These are:
- COMMON
- UNCOMMON
- RARE
- EPIC
- LEGENDARY
As materials increase in rarity, they will usually require higher level Tools or use of special Buildables to obtain. LEGENDARY rarity materials have a finite quantity available and cannot be produced using Buildables. [1]
